Help us support people with sight loss.

They gave me hope” – newly diagnosed client

We firmly believe that no one should have to live with sight loss unsupported. At Sutton Vision we are here for everyone who needs us, whether they’ve been blind from birth or acquired visual impairment at a later stage in their life. There are over 6,000 people with some level of sight loss in Sutton and we are able to support them in many different ways:

  • Guiding them through the benefits system
  • Introducing them, at our Low Vision Clinic, to the wide array of magnifiers and other gadgets that can make daily life more manageable
  • Offering VI friendly exercise classes to help people stay fit despite sight loss
  • Providing social activities and volunteer befrienders for people isolated by their sight loss

Our staff and volunteers provide a lifeline for anyone visually impaired in Sutton. As one of our volunteers tells us:

“When a client tells me that she really looks forward to speaking to me every week because, although she has family and friends around her, they don’t really understand what she is going through, being able to talk to me gives her an outlet for her frustrations and anger. It is good to know that you can make a difference to people, even in small ways”.

Please consider making a gift to support our work in the year ahead.
