Hilary Leacock

Trustee Champion for community involvement

Hilary joined the board in January 2024. As someone who has lived with no sight since birth, she was keen to become a trustee as a way of giving something back, after receiving support from the charity herself. After studying Russian and French at Exeter University, she worked for the Civil Service as a bilingual secretary. A later career change led to studying massage and aromatherapy and working at a day centre for people with learning disabilities for 16 years. In her spare time, Hilary is part of The Big Heart Band, visiting care homes and encouraging residents to join in with singing.
