Take on 250

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT OUR WORK, PLEASE DONATE HERE or VISIT OUR OFFICES.

Our events include:

Throughout January, we’ll be running a series of events to raise awareness and money for our charity, to help support our work and make sure no one faces sight loss alone. Every day in the UK, 250 people begin to lose their sight.  We give individuals and their families all the information, help and support they need, when they need it.

  • Throughout January, our Knit and Natter group will produce 250 squares (and probably more!) to create blankets for a Guide Dog puppy in training to support a visually impaired person.
  • We’ll be pitching at Sutton Soup on Thursday, January 18th at St Nicholas Church, Sutton, SM1 1ST as one of 4 charities hoping to be supported for our Living with Sight Loss workshops. These support people that have been newly diagnosed with a visual impairment and to help them to adjust to life at a worrying and confusing time. At the event, everyone donates what they can (suggested donation £5), you’re given bread and soup and vote at the end and the winner gets the cash! You can book here: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sutton-soup-25-tickets-739230397017
  • A charity quiz night at The Sutton Arms, 60-62 High Street on Saturday 27th January from 7pm.  Get a team of up to 6 people together and pit your wits.  Just £2.50 per person to enter and you could win a Morrisons hamper or Sutton United goodies, plus a great night out! Speak to Caroline in the office or contact The Sutton Arms on 020 8661 7430 and we thank them for their support.
  • Last but not least, our staff and volunteer team will take the Take on 250 Gym challenge.  At Anytime Fitness in Sutton, our team of 10 (Terry, Caroline, Amanda, Vicky, Ann, Colin, Lindsey, Jill, Dave and Denise) will complete 250 minutes of exercise on Wednesday 31st January at 2pm.  Thank you to Anytime Fitness for supporting our challenge!

Regular donations are a vital source of income and help us build a better future for everyone affected by sight loss in Sutton.  If you want to know how we use your donation? Find out about our services.
